Andrew,

I'm glad to hear that she is doing well. Feed her a treat for me.

I didn't read the whole thread but my German Shepherd just died of lymphoma about six weeks ago. From the time we found out we got eight weeks. The early symptoms were lack of appetite and energy. Then extreme weight loss. The vet found golf ball sized tumors on all of his lymph nodes. We would have lost him after three weeks but we gave him steroids. It perked him right back up and put some weight on him but the positive results only lasted a little over a month. After a couple weeks of decline during which it was obvious that his inner workings had ceased to function properly we decided that there was no reason for him to be in as much pain as it was clear he was living with. I'm sorry that this isn't all that positive. My wife and I are still sick over what happened because we loved him so much. Just make sure you give your dog plenty of love because you never know when the steep decline may start. Good luck!

edit: Just read the rest. Good luck with the chemo! Glad you caught it in time. Our guy was just three years old but his was too far advanced to consider chemo. Positive thoughts wafting your direction!

So far so good. But nothings for certain. We enjoy everday with her.

Sorry for your loss. That was way to young to go.

Andrew hang in there, we had a rottweiler who survived breast cancer and a rattlesnake bite. She died of old age. Just remember dogs are tougher than us.

The battle is over, we lost our wonderful little dog Abby last night.

The world was a better place if only for three years. This will take some time for us to get over if ever.

God speed Abby.

Very sorry for your loss, they live much too briefly. I'm still reeling from the loss of my 13 yr old choc. lab a few weeks ago. I feel your pain, and it sucks.

Thank you.

Wow that little creature gave so much and asked for so little.

Andrew,

Sorry to hear that you lost your little girl. If there is any comfort in this, the fact that up until the end she was very functional and showed no pain. And once you had the prognosis if she had to go, it was fast and she didn't suffer. Keep your spirits up and you'll be chosen by another when the time comes.
