Door handle issue

On my drivers door, the inside and outside handles take a bunch of pulls to release and open the door. I searched the threads and read i need to tighten up the arms that lead to the handle in order to get the latch to work. I took the panel off the door, and managed to unclip the outside door handle arm and tighten it one turn. Works great now.

But I am having a problem with the inside handle. Not sure how to tighten it up, is there a recommended way to do it or do I just shim it or whatever to make it work?

I believe there's an adjustment for that. I?ll have to double check when I get home.
Maybe someone who knows will chime in.

I have that problem too but it's because I bashed the passenger toor handle into a tree bending in the body panel. This causes the outside door handle to sometimes stick in the half pulled out position which makes the inner door handle not work. My wife hates it when that happens. All I have to do is run around the truck and tap it in. Then she can get out.

So your problem may be the outer door handle.

Hope that helps somewhat,

Jamil

Thanks for the replies, I think there is a screw I can tighten/looses at the end of the arm near the latch, i just have to get a small spanner in there as i can't do it by hand....

Where the inside rod attaches to the lock mechanism, there's a spring-loaded nyloc nut. Turn that to adjust the inside handle.

I can feel the nut, and can get my other hand in there, but I can't turn the damn thing. The grease I had on my hands is not helping matters either...
