Well age is catching up to my 94 D1. The bottom seam of the door skins on the LH driver and passenger doors have corrision. This problem runs the entire length of both doors and is creeping up the sides. The aluminum is brittle and the steel underneath has rust. Can a body shop repair this? Or should I start looking for replacement doors?

You could try blowing it out and using body caulk to reseal/rebond failing that pm me as i have another one landing and ill check the doors on that. - Dom

Thanks Dom. I may do that.

Our Rovers are getting older. Someone must have worked on this problem. Can anyone share how they dealt with failing door seams?

I'm thinking it's better to replace them but I don't know how much time I would get from a used door. Are all D1 series doors the same? Will a later model door fit a 1994 ?

It all depends on how bad they are. I have a '95 D1 and I check the doors every six months and do a thorough cleaning, repainting and sealing with silicone to fill in where the door skin wraps around the inside of the door to prevent water from coming in. That seems to work well. Yours may be worse off than that.
