Guys it's time for new tires. I have been running BFG AT's 265/75/16 for about 50,000 miles, 2004 D2.

I still want to get the traction benefits of the tire but would also like to realize the power of the 4.6. My offroading time has become a little less frequent and this is why I am entertaining the thought of 245/65/16.

Anyone drop down in tire size?

If you don't want to affect the look too much, and still realise a power gain, I would suggest you go with 265/70-16, which are the same circumference as the 245/75, and closer to the width of the 265/75.

My .02

regear with 3:9's and put your ratios back to stock, it would give more power than smaller tire unless you go back to stock tire size.

With 265/75s, I am assuming you have a 2" lift or so? If you do have a lift, your DII will look a bit funny with the 245/75s - assuming that bothers you??

Looks like i'll be staying with the 265's. Smaller tires would look like shit with my 3" lift.

Yep it would. 245/75-16 or 265/70-16 look perfect with a 2 inch lift, but 3 inches is too high for that tire size. Nothing looks stupider than an overlifted truck.
