Downgrades for my DII

I finished a few projects on Sunday.
Finally put in the DI diff lock. This was more work then I figured. Mainly working around the automatic shifter assembly. I cut the front 6 inches or so off the cover and used the DI bladder attached with 1/8 inch rivets.
Second project was a tranny service. As I did this I replaced the DII tranny pan with a DI pan. Now I can check my fluid level and add fluid without laying on my back hand pumping in tranny fluid. This is a great downgrade. The pan fits perfect as well as the dipstick tube. If your tired of the DII dipstickless pan I really recommend.

Next is to cut the wire so my traction control doesn't turn off with a restart. I'm thinking about maybe a switch so I can turn the traction control on or off.

Cheers

If you get a SLABS module from a late 03 or 04 the TC does not cut out with a restart.
The number is srd0000150 or the very latest, srd500070.

Finally! I have heard talk for years of the tranny pan swap. So we now have a confirmed report that a DI pan and dipstick will work on the DII?

Where did you get the tranny DI pan from? used or new? easy swap?

Core tranny I had sitting around so used for sure. Piece of cake swap. The only bugger was the tranny bolt that the dipstick tube bolts to. 3/8s extension and a couple wobblies. My DII doesn't have secondary air. I don't know if this would hit something on that engine.
