drifting to left

I had my front passenger swivel ball resealed yesterday by the dealer (big freakin mess by them by that's another story) and I've now noticed that my truck drifts to the left when I brake. Could this be related to the swivel job?

Thanks,

Al

That sounds more like a caliper on the passenger side. Perhaps the rotor got some grease on them and the pads arent gripping. Causing the drivers side to "bite" more than the passenger, hence the pulling to the left. Perhaps it would pull all the time if they messed with the tie rod and drag link while removing the swivel housing. But, pulling to one side while breaking leads me to think the problem is with the brakes on the opposite side. I would take the wheel off and spray down the caliper with brake cleaner. Couldnt hurt to take the caliper off and spray the pads either. Better yet, take it back to the dealer and have them fix it. But, they will probably tell you the caliper is shot and want $3,200 to repair.

x2 on what John said.

Another possibility, not as likely, but possible... Jack up the corner they messed with and check the wheel for wobble, could be they did not get the wheel bearings seated/adjusted correctly when they put it back together. If you can grab the tire top and bottom and feel a wobble or clunk then the bearings are loose. Under the right conditions this wobble could knock the pads back into the caliper and reduce the initial braking force on that corner, causing an initial pull to the other side.

That's what I was thinking too. It only happens on braking so my thought was like John's and something on the passenger side brake assembly is messed up. The dealer has to redo my swivel housing anyway (third time in a week and half) so I'll get them to look into the brake thing. I'll check the wheel bearing too as Richard suggested just to make sure.

Thanks guys.
