What is acceptable driveline slop?
With my digital protractor I get these rotational measurements:
Front diff yoke no driveshaft attached 16 degrees
Rear diff yoke with drivehaft 6 degrees
Rear T-case output is the same 6 degrees as above, the driveshaft is still attached
Front T-case output without driveshaft 40+ degrees
T-case is unlocked, transmission in neutral.
In my other broken LT230 thread someone mentioned re-adjusting the layshaft.
Is this possible with the T-case in the truck? How is this accomplished?
Where else should I look for this slop?
I will take the front diff apart and check backlash and fastener torques.
