For whatever reason the seat base on my 94 D1 was rusting through badly, two of the 4 corners where the bolts were had completely rusted through. Surprisingly the floor itself appeared to be in great condition, until I removed it. Once removed I discovered a hole where the floor transitions into the transmission tunnel, about a foot long and millimeters thin(more of a split then a hole). So I plan on removing the bad area and welding in a new piece. Any suggestions?
on to my real questions... I can't seem to get the seat off of the sliders/base, the allen bolts and square nuts won't budge, am I missing something?
The steel base is borderline salvageable, but are these available new? If I have to go to a parts truck are they interchangeable despite being different designs for 94/95 versus 96+?
I'm heading back to school in a week and need to get this sorted out quickly.
