I just told my Disco to a family friend and now the front driver speaker does not work. Its a 97 DI and really want to give him a good answer. It does not work at all, is there individual fuses for each speaker if the front? Is the amp by the passenger side legs? Any help is much appreciated. thanks.

No, I had installed new speakers with a possible loose connection but the new owner tried putting the old speaker in and it still did not work. thanks.

aside from the connections behind the speaker working loose, there is another connection behind the kickpanel to the left of the clutch/brake pedal IIRC. from there the wiring goes to the amp under the pass. seat and it turns into an electrical web.

Is there a fuse located in the amp on the passenger side that could be the problem? The right side and the back left works.

Look at the point that the wire passes throught the door and into the body and see if it's grounded. Or maybe that channel in the amp is dead....

So if the left channel is dead it is most likely a bad ground (located near the driver door) or the channel on the amp is just fried? There is no fuse on the amp that could be blown?

Sounds like that channel in the amp is blown. Sorry. Take a spare speaker (cheap one) and trace the wires back to the amp. Find the pos and neg and hook the speaker to them. Make sure that you leave yourself enough wire off of the amp to reconnect them. This will tell you for sure that it's the amp.
