My 2004 Discovery's front passenger window will not go down. I did a search, and it sounds like I might need a motor, but not sure. When I press the button to put the window down, I get a click, but no action. Does this sound like a bad motor?

Thanks,

D2's are notorious for the window regulators breaking. I replaced 2 in my old one. First time was a plastic roller broke, second time the spot welded gear-teeth broke off. Regardless the problem you need to pop the door panel off and see what's going on. It's not that hard, just remove all the screws then pop it off. A panel popper tool helps.

I've experienced broken window regulators in my other Land Rovers, but they usually make a grinding noise when they are broken. This just makes an electrical click once if I press down, and once if I press up.

Could be the motor. While you are in there, remove motor from regulator and see if it turns when you press the buton. Yes it works = bad regulator. Nothing happens = bad motor. Be carefull popping the panel you can brake the little blue fasteners or the part of the panel that secures to the blue fastener.
