I cant seem to find a definitive answer, will the Bosch 4.6 (using 4.0 intake & ECU) drop in and work with my existing setup (other than blocking SAI etc)?

Thanks
John

Swap the gems timing cover and timing gear. Using spacers on the waterpump like that link is ghetto

And the crank position sensor.

I just did the opposite.

Replaced a Bosch 4.6 with a GEMS 4.0, retaining the Bosch ECU, etc...

I did this exact thing in my 98 Disco. I used the link above for my swap, it's pretty thorough. Definitely swap the front cover. I think I used the gems front cover, intake manifold, crank sensor and oil pan.

Change as many orings, gaskets etc etc as you can with the engine out. I used the 4.0 ecu. Any questions feel free to PM me.
