DS Seat--Only works with Door Open

I'm gettng ready to go outside and probably start cursing myself for why I bought a D1 with power seats.

Any ideas on why the seat will only work when the door is open? Remedies? I ordered a couple of relays and will start there.

I bet your cigar lighter does not work either, does it?

I think it's fuse #6. I would have to look, though. It's a yellow 20amp fuse. It may be blown, or it's not making good contact. If the fuse looks good, slightly twist the blades of the fuse opposite of each other and but it back in. This will make sure it makes good contact.

Thanks Dan. The lighter was working but I still tried what you suggested with seat fuses under the DS.

Anyway I got it working. Dont really know what exactly did it but it works. I even got the passenger side working. That was just a bad relay and I thought it was a switch. Saved my self a few bucks there.

Does anybody have full wiring diagrams for a D1. I have the shop manual LRL0079 but it doesnt even mention anything about the relays and fuses for the seats.

It's to prevent injury when the seat motors go apesh$t and go into lateral ejection mode...
