Dual Batteries in, SAI out?

I have an 01 D2 that I am installing a dual battery kit in (unknown brand but not aedofab, don't think it matters anyway). I have to re-relocate the washer fluid bottle as it was relocated to the battery area after the installation of RTE front bumper. About the only other likely spot is where the SAI fan is located. Is there anything really wrong with removing it? I've done some searches and it seems that it is mainly serving as an emissions control device. There aren't any mandatory emissions checks here so I'm not worried about that. I'm sure it will throw codes and the check engine light will burn constantly but I'll live with that for the trade off of dual batteries if I'm not going to be stuck in base timing or limp mode all of the time. Any input/ideas? Thanks.

I would re-relocate the washer bottle and avoid ditching anything else.

Hope this helps.

I'm just stymied as to where. There isn't really anywhere underhood for it to go. One of the searches revealed a guy that put his in the air compressor bracket under the truck. I'm not crazy about that idea as it is a vulnerable spot. Bracket has already been bent from some mash action anyway. Another guy fabricated one out of pvc and mounted it on the radiator support, intriguing idea but not sure I'm sold on it. I'm too lazy to put that much work into a friggin washer jug if I don't have to.

You may want to search for the D-90 bottle in place of the jack. I think Flyfisher11 has the dual batteries with the 90 tank.

This is mine but it won't work for you. However there are a cuople of ideas in this thread that might work for you.

I have the D-90 style reservoir as it was used for the first relocation. The OE box was removed on the first go round and washer bottle put beside the battery. Using duals wont leave room for that. Your mounting is the way I would prefer to do it and would if I were doing the job on my other D2 without SAI. The install with the bottle next to the overflow tank is a good idea, heat tape and all. However, I think the SAI pipes are in the way on mine...gonna go look. Thanks for the input.

x2 on the D90 bottle, I've seen various mounting options, they all looked good. You can keep the front and rear screen wash, but you'll lose the headlight squirters.

michael made a new tank out of PVC. looks good and its functional.

i like it. mounted between the frame mounts of the front bumper. all electronics and plumbing were extended to make it work.

fill it up every few mounts. holds a good bit.

There was room next to the overflow reservoir, got it mounted there for the time being; I don't particularly like it, but it works. I will most likely fab a PVC unit in the future, after I'm finished w/dual batt install. Sweet install michaels. Thanks for the help fellas.

Go with the Odyssey/Sears Platinum...one batter does the work of two. No need for dual batteries....

Just a suggestion.
