Dynaflex LineLock

I tried to install some Viking line on my Superwinch Husky 10 tonight with a Dynaflex LineLock. Ran the line through the LL, then over it three times, then through it again. Was able to get it to lock down somewhat when tensioning the spool by hand. However, when I put the spool under load, the LineLock'ed section would just spin around on the drum. My winch uses the through-hole method to secure the line but I was not using that with the LL. Should I be? Trying to avoid duct tape on the drum.

I'm not sure if this will help at all, but here are directions for another brand line lock/retainer. I think you are supposed to put the line through the hole with superwinches / little bolt on warns. The through the hole or bolt is still keeping the line on, the lock just keeps you from unspooling it to far.

Thanks, guys.

I followed those instructions except the part about attaching the terminal end to the drum. I will need to do that. I used the LL thinking that I could avoid having to duct tape the line to the drum (I have a through-hole-style drum).

i used the duct tape route when i installed mine and you dont even know its there.....why the concern with the tape?........ive been all the way down to the last drum wrap and no problems......
