sounds like a fun time. I think Stl Rover club had emailed a list of a couple events including this one. Any other land rover owners around you?

Hello Disco007, Thank You for the reply! Most of the local Rover people don't do much off road, although I plan to contact a couple of the "wheelers" in the next couple days. Anybody from your "neck of the woods" plan on going? I know another Rover enthusiast from Columbia who may be interested in going if he has the time. You may know him, he drives a RR Classic, also a D1. I think I might give him a call! How about You? The trails will probably be somewhat mild, w/the occasional difficult sections. Should be loads of fun, though! Hope You can make it, look forward to meeting You there! Thank You, LRW.

Your stock can do it. I spent a weekend down in that area a year or two ago.

Very pleasant, mild, narrow trails in some gorgeous forests.

There should be some Kansas City guys headed down there.

I am up in Iowa at school, but I am going to try and come down for the weekend. If I make it I will be bringing a new friend of mine in his 90.

David Downing is coordinating this event out of Springfield, he is involved with the Flatland Rover Society.

More information can be found at www.flatlandroversociety.com

Thanks,
Clif

What part of Iowa for school? anywhere near Lake McBride? There are some pics in the trails/events section. Wife has relatives in IA and thought it would be a good way to get away from the inlaws.

Would the October event be family friendly? The kids and wife would like to get down there also.

The same

Ryan,

Yeah, that's my brainchild, as Brian so eloquently phrased it. Obviously, still in it's cranial gestation period.

I am at Cornell College, in Mt. Vernon, Iowa.

I am about 25 minutes or less outside of Iowa City.

I am not familiar with Lake McBride, but I have been educated by those more familiar with the area that we are quite close.

Sean, Thank You for the response! I'm only about 100mi. south of Fulton, But where would one be able to wheel there? This weekend I'm catering to my wife, fulfilling all her requests. Would love to go though, but I'm sure she's making a list for me to keep me from wheeling, fishing, or doing anything that I may enjoy. But if she's happy, well....You know the rest! See You @ Eagle Rock? Thank You, LRW.

Potawami

The place is referred to as Potawami. I can't remember exactly how to get there. It's about 250 acres that are privately owned.

Good time had by most all attending. The trails were great, the Rovers were great, the people were great! A little carnage here and there, but overall, a great time! Thank You, LRW.
