Chop away. Leak free since I have owned it. I'll do 26.5 if you throw a deposit down. . .

Plus you can call RDS and get what you need and sell the rest off...

You know you want to!

Click on my avatar and you'll see a picture of my 90 after I took the roof off but that was a while ago. Since then I've taken the doors off and stripped some of the paint off. In some spots you can see aluminum.

I have more pictures at home. I'll send you some when I get home tonight. Haven't worked on it since early December though. I have some things I need to fix on my Disco right now... :(

you got XZLs you bastard.

110 started in 1983, 90s in 1985.
They used galvy body cappings
most were powered by 2.5 litre petrol or diesels though the v8 got into a few.
What they are powered by 25 years later god only knowns.
same bulkhead etc type issues as the series trucks
Early vehicles had the sliding glass door windows
They weren't called defenders back then
LT77s and LT85 used,
Mil versions available with 24 volt

"Mil versions available with 24 volt"

Yea no kidding. I had a huge 24V generator in mine along with all kinds of electronic stuff plus 4 extra batteries in the back cargo area.

Chris are you sure about the 90's coming out in 1985? I thought it's 1984 as that's what mine VIN indicates as well as any other literature I've read.

Hey Jack,

Did you get those pictures I sent you?

Al

I did.
very cool.
looks familiar.

i'm doing my best to swap in the more modern defender parts I want without trying to build some sort of lame NAS clone.

Yea I'm with you on that. Although there's only so much you can do before you start getting into stuff like moving tanks around and stuff so I think mine will look a lot like it did originally with minor things like lights, etc. that look more modern. The big difference will probably be my engine and powersteering. The rest will just be minor cosmetic differences.

Kinda ironic- I was raggin on the prices of the D90's in this thread... now I should be taking delivery of a D-90 in the next 10 days or so. :)

Congrats Steve. I take it you got a good deal on it? NAS? Or Euro?

It's NAS- but doesn't have the front cage (well, it comes with a new one but never had one installed). It's the 8th D-90NAS ever made and the first ten had no front cage (from what I was told, anyway). It's a 94 with 140K on it, but in great shape- from the South, winch, spare set of wheels etc. Decent enough deal, but not something to dance around all silly about. With some detailing and updating I could probably turn it for $5K profit though.

"i got NAS seats!!!"

Bastard.

I have no seats and a steering wheel large enough to turn a bus... :(

But I still have XZL's. :D

Steve - that's the nice thing about NAS Defenders. You can probably turn a profit on them if you spruce them up a bit and sold them but I'm not sure that's the case with Euro Defenders. Not unless you do a flawless restoration and put some of the NAS "amenities" in them but I plan on using mine as a trail rig so I wasn't going to go crazy with making it perfect.

I am a fireman in Los Angeles, and 5 years ago I was tillering the hook and ladder truck, you get a great view up there :p . Anyway we were driving by a tow yard and I spotted a 90ST parked in the lot with a ton of dirt and dust on it. I yelled into the headphones for the driver to stop and went in to find out what the deal was. Long story short. I bought it from the tow yard for $15k and sold it a few months later for $21k. Just had to clean it up a little.
