Eco-terrorized

Yesterday I came home to find that my rovers front right tire was completely flat. The day before I had driven it to work and the tire was fine. I took it to a tire shop last night and they couldn't find anything wrong with tire itself, the valve stem, or the rim. Even worse the same thing happened to my rear tire a couple months ago. I think I am being eco-terrorized.

Sneaky bastards!

They must sit at your tire for a couple of min while deflating them with a pen.

That or you have a slow leak. did the tire people inflate it to 60psi and submerge it in a tub of water?

Check for nails or screws?

Or it could be ELF in action.

The tire shop had two people trying to figure out the problem. They submerged it and took it off the rim. I'm in ELF country (portland, or) so I always have to be suspicious. Maybe you're both right. Maybe the neighbor kids and their border collie are part of ELF.

You guys are right, I should mount some kind of defense. I could deflate the tires before hand. Maybe they would feel defeated and move on to the giant Ford Super Duty down the street.

Put in a new valve stem and put a Greenpeace sticker on your truck. You'll be protected from both angles.

Speaking of elves, I hate Keebler and their little warriors. They always make me hungry. Now when I see a little person I always want a cup of milk and a cookie.

We used to loosen the valve stems a couple of turns in wheels of people we didn't like. eventually the tire goes flat and they have no clue why. I still have a valve core tool in the center console just incase :D

as a kid my grandfather and his friends would let the air out of an old mans tires...one night on his way home my grandfather stopped by to keep his tradition alive, unfortunately the old man had had enough and was waiting with a steel pipe. Needless to say he never had another problem with his tires going flat again

.....what happened to the good old day?

Do what I did, I had some retard trying to break into the camper shell on my Tundra I used to have. I put some small but readable signs on the side windows he was trying to open that said "My 30-06 may be sighted in on your head", for some reason he stopped trying.

That's stupid. But it's nothing compared to what happened here in Portland last night:

After all the annoying news about my Rover problems I posted lately, I just wanted to weigh in on this thread if I may.

Because I just thought about "eco-terorrism" the other day whenI saw that on my block on Central Park West, all the SUVs had "NO BLOOD FOR OIL--GET A SMALLER CAR" handmade stickers stuck on their windshields.

So annoying since a few weeks back, no one said anything when the NY City Parks Prius got hit by a truck in the park and its battery acid was all over the ground!

Good thing my 95 LWB is in the shop getting fitted with a 4.6 engine, since I'm sure with my luck the vandals would have stuck stickers all over my car! BUT, the first thing I though of when I saw this patent vandalism was that when my truck comes out of the shop, I'm putting some sort of "runs on biodiesel" fake sticker or something on the truck. I know that's being dishonest, and I did consider converting to a 'Veggie Rover' until I realized how expensive it would be, if I could even find a mechanic to do it!

On another note about the terrors of NYC and Rover tires: of course I have had numerous valve stem covers swiped (as well as wipers, front and rear--hello, must be other Rover owners). But back in December when I still had my 95 RRC, I had parked "Rover Style" on a mound of trash bags near a local Vietnamese restaurant. Next day, I had a flat tire by time I made it to JFK airport. When my mechanic pulled the tire and found the "spike", it turned out to be a chicken bone that I had run over from the trash pile!

Cheers!

If you think it's the locals kids pulling a prank buy valve stem caps for an airplane. They are made (at least mine are) of brass and have a gasket inside. They're also hex shaped so you can tighten them with a wrench. It's enough to deter a prank.
