the skid recovery system in my audi is awesome.

does anyone know if wabco makes a plug-n-play stability control system I could drop into my '95?

I'd like to use wabco to avoid any diminished abs functionality that another vendor might introduce.

In a pinch, I guess Lucas could be considered an appropriate vendor.

Anyone heard of such a thing?

Skid recovery in a Disco is accomplished with the right foot and steering wheel.

If there was a drop in system available it would probably cost 3X what the truck is now worth.

Diminished functionality of the Wabco ABS unit? I think Wabco wrote the book on diminished functionality of ABS. The only thing stable about most Disco's ABS system is the light is ALWAYS on.

Lucas? Diminished Functionality is what they do best!

my honest advice would be to learn how to drive the disco better instead of adding more electronics that you think will make it a safer vehicle.

You're fighting the flow, here. Most of us want less gadgets, you're asking for more complications.

.....or having another limb.....a tree limb. Breathing control helps too. Anticipation really is a learned skill with the Wabco units. It probably won't work and you plan for it in advance of your slide. You aim at the center of the tree at the bottom of you driveway so it won't harm one side of your hood more than the other. Your hinges then stay aligned.

no it is not.

One has to be very crafty with the pedals and the steering wheel to recover a skidding Disco.
Try it on an empty slick parking lot.
It is very difficult to send a Disco into a skid. But once you're in it, you have to think VERY fast.
