I installed a aftermarket radio in my d1 and now i am getting noise through the system and one speaker won't work all the time. I am wondering if just replacing the preamp would fix it or i just need to redo the whole system

usally when you get engine noise through the head unit it's related to the wires used. Sometimes you need extra shielded wires.

Radio Noise

Tim,
If you are running on your originial plug wires they can cause the noise, also check your cap and rotor to make sure you aren't getting carbon track. If you wires are old change them out and this should stop the noise and your engine will probably run better also. As for one speaker not working, check all your connections.
Good luck,
Mike

Check your grounds. Make sure your battery is grounded to the frame. Did you install any amps or was it just a deck?

The first place I would look is the ground for the deck. Usually an aftermaket deck puts out more power than a factory deck and sometimes the factory ground is not big enough. Make sure the ground wire is at least as big as the power wire, if not bigger. And make sure it is grounded to bare metal, not metal with paint covering it.
