I am considering pulling the engine from my 1999 Bosch P38 and swapping it into a 01 Disco II with a slipped cylinder liner. I am sure it will fit. Just need some advice from someone that has done it before. What will need to come off the Disco engine and go on the P38 engine?.etc..

You only need the long block but the only thing really different is the exhaust manifolds Use the P38 alt if it is good as it is 150 amp vs 130.

I would just pull the upper plenum and exhaust manifolds off and swap them over...........assuming neither is secondary air

Front cover is different (oil filter is at a slightly different angle and threads for oil pressure switch may be different) but shouldn't be a problem.

I am going to be doing this same swap. Will the P38 pressure switch accept the disco connector, or do I source a thread adapter to accept the Disco pressure switch? Or, splice the P38 connector to the Disco wiring?
