I have a tick that seems to be coming from the passenger side down low. Pretty sure it's not the valves and took the belt off and spun the pulleys the all seemed fine. Anyone have any ideas. Thanks

Yeah, if it sounds like its coming from the downpipe then it probably is. Get a stethescope or long screwdriver and pin point it. The ole SeaFoam trick might reveal a leak where the downpipe meets the manifold.

Just had new cats put in. I don't think it is exhaust. I think more like bottom of the motor. I have the sound recorded just have to transfer it from my phone to the computer. Check the valves with screwdriver.

It sure could be the down pipe, you just had work done on it.
A easy way to find a exhaust leak is to suck a little sea foam thru the vaccum line or thru the intake, it wll find the exhaust for you.

I will try seafoam didn't want to kill the new cats.

Was helping a firiend go over a one owner, great shape used, low miles 2000 Disco II monday and everything on it was great, no leaks what so ever! drove great as well. (really!, recent head work). He passed on it when we couldnt figure out a similiar mechanical tick emanating from under the truck / oil pan. no fixed rhythm,
...-..-.......--.....-...-.-.....-,

no 'gray' exhaust residue between pipe/header, none at the exhaust manifolds, etc. unsure if cats were the culprit.
