guess this is a case where good old "mechanical / AKA lead weights" are better then "new technology"

in all honesty i dont run equal... only because i never got around to it....

BUT if Equal were really the "be all end all" then why dont new car mfg send cars out the door with it??? it seems like it would be a cost savings to them because it would streamline the car assembly time (i.e. money)... no balancing needed, just mount tire and pour this stuff in...

I have new 265/75/16 MTR's with Lead and equal. Adding equal was the only way these tires would balance. I have a vibe from 70 to 80 ish. Super smooth above that. I suspect that I need a little more equal.

BFG MTR 235/85, 4-oz, over sixty mph is ugly. Have more on the way, will add another 2-oz/tire and test. If not, out it goes and lead back on.
Kinda of expensive test, yes I know, but I hope the additional ozs work.
Why some are happy, some are not I attribute to the many factors involved in the complex equation of satisfaction.

I thought about using it, but I don't get the concept being I went to third grade twice. As the tire is spinning, won't centrifugal force cause it to congregate at the heavy side of the tire? Making it become more and more out of balance, until it finally shreds itself and looks like one of those truck tires you see on the highway? Ah, cripes now I probably have to go and get the stuff, just to see what happens.

I'm pretty sensitive...but on the other hand I have a set of Centerline alloys on a '76 FJ55 with 33x12.5 BFG KM's...no weights or equal at all. Not a one. Says something about both the wheel and the tires I think. Smooth as silk.

The TrXus is a great tread and works wel in many places, but it's still made by Interco/Denman...

The dissatisfaction I had with equal in my 32x9.5 TSL's wasn't from the get go...initially it worked very well...but within 2 weeks it was sporadic (VERY strange IMHO). I'd get up and drive the rig 20 miles to work...perfectly smooth...I'd swing in to the local coffee shop and grab a cuppa...pull back onto Rt 1...vibes... this is the way it went. I'd swap my BFG AT's (same type of wheel but balanced with lead) on and the truck was perfect consistantly. The equal would work, then it wouldn't. I assumed I got moisture in there but when we broke the bead to check it it was dry as a bone...
