So I dropped my discovery 2 off at a mobil for an oil change, came back and picked it up and when I started her up got a check engine light Did not have it when I dropped it off. I ran the codes and got p0140- thats an 02 sensor right? (Bank 1 Sensor 2), p0141-? says no ckt activity Scanner says O2 heater circuit malf., and p0161 02 sensor heater bank 2 sensor 2

What could have happened/been done to cause this during a regular oil change. I have to drive 160 miles home tomorrow and am going to bring it back in the morning to the station to see if they can fix it before I do, but would like to see if anyone here has advice. I reset the codes to see if it was a fluke but they came back after 4-5 minutes of driving. This was after I had shut her down once.

Thanks guys,
Mike

don't know about the codes, but I'm willing to bet that taking it back to the grease monkeys will be a complete waste of your time.

Good luck.

yeah I am going under it in the morning I couldnt see much when i looked tonight. Are all those codes directly related to the 02 sensor rear circuit and heater? not sure what that all means together, seems to me ( i dont know much about it) that the whole rear circuit area got knocked or shorted maybe?

maybe they liked your money and want more of it ;)

seriously though, like atated above....check the connections at the sensors and into the harness.

Ok got under the truck, the clip from one of the o2 sensors had been crack and they were not connected, reconnected them, put some plastec glue on the outside and reset codes came back on maybe an hour later. So I am thinking either the sensor is dead or the wires got damaged, can I purchase some generic clips to splice them back together or what should I do?

which end is f--ked up?

if its the end connected to the sensor....scrap it! do a search for o2 sensor....find the cheapest one and pony up! however, if you really want to....you can buy generic clips at your local parts store.

enjoy!
