Exhaust leak, catylytic converter

you can see the exhaust coming out of a leak in the seam on my left side cat.... im wondering if i could just simply MIG weld it and call it a day? OR am i wrong?

That would be the easiest and cheapest fix. Be sure to clean the area really well fist, though.

If it doesn't work, what are you out for trying to weld it?

my drivers side has crack too. correct me if wrong, but couldnt this be a sign that the cat is roasted? and could be damaged internally, in which a weld wont "repair". Hell, mine rattled for bout 2 weeks, then i guess everything settled to the bottom, cause no more noise. Still small crack though.

Damn man, welding is one of the lesser known trades on this site. A good welder has the potential of making a nice amount of money fabbing up bumpers and roof racks for this crowd!
