I need to know if anyone has a cross ref part for the gasket between the Y pipe and the muffler. I have the damn thing all apart and there is no gasket in there. Damn previous owner, no wonder it sounded so bad.

I have until 8pm mountain time. tick tock....

NAPA/Advance Auto/Autozone/PepBoys? Getting the picture? If you need it tonight, start calling and have them look it up.

I know you weren't trying to be an ass so I won't shit on you. None of the stores I have called carry the Rover part. That is why I put CROSS REF part in my post. The guys at the stores by me have no idea what to use as a subtitute.

I was hoping I could get the part number of one that someone on here has used or even might think will work.

How do you know I wasn't trying to be an ass? OK, seriously. Here's what I'd do. Hold up a piece of paper to the flange, trace it with the bolt holes as accurate as you can and take it down and see if they can get close enough. Only thing I can think of if you have to have it tonight.
Good Luck - Bill

Thanks Bill. I just have gotten used to the smart ass comments on here over the last decade. I think that may be my only option.

I can't belive the amount of hack work that was done to this poor thing. I guess I have been spoiled by my other D1. The previous owner of that one was a soccer mom in 99 and it was perfect when I bought it.

If I find something that works I'll post it here. :patriot:

Other option is just to bolt it up and order the right one. A little noisy for a few days, but you can just slide it in when it arrives.

Thanks guys, I went down to O'reilly with the "picture" and found one that might work.

ROL Gaskets #EG24057

Here we go, I hope this works. These bolts are a mess so I hope I only have to this once.

this sealing ring was used on various makes: not just rover. Might be able to find one on the shelf with the misc exhaust fittings.

This is if you have a replacement type y pipe convertor assembly. The factory original part is different.

Not sure what this ROL part was for, but it worked. I ran the exhaust up to about 15 PSI and it held. (using a rubber plug on the end of the pipe with a compressor.)

You forget how quite these things run when the exhaust it sealed properly.

Thanks for the help guys! Especially smart ass Bill and his Picture Page idea :D

d1, right? there isn't a gasket there. There is a part number for an "olive" but it was missing in all 3 of mine.

Yeah, the "olive". Well I couldn't get the damn thing to seal without it. This truck was so abused, the bolts were broken off when I bought it. I had to drill them out.

I didn't remember the "olive" either on my other D1 but with that new ROL gasket it was sealed tight as a jug. I might just have to order one of these olives from AB just to see how much easier it is to seal up on my project D1.

Even in rust free Texas those bolts should be considered 1 time use. They shear right off every time I need to drop the y pipe. I'm now using those unrated junk bolts from home depot just to make it easier to shear.
