I been doing research and writing down on stuff that i want to do to my RRC for the expedition rig. So my Question is would it be best to do the 24 spline and lt230 swap, or can I use the BW and 10 spline? It well only see dirt roads and mild rocks on the trail.

A broken 10 spline & BW will leave you stranded. You should do both. If I had to pick one, the LT is more important.

I haven't broken a RRC BW T-case yet, so I don't know why is it a concern. 10 splines are kinda old, but if you don't go overboard with tires and don't carry a ton inside/on top of your Classic, they are not too weak.

BTW, a broken 10-spline axle does not mean "dead in the water" with the BW case. I know people who drove for 200 miles with one driveshaft out (not that I'd recommend doing that, but it is doable).

BW's will likely fail at some point. LT won't. Viscous units only take so much punishment. Especially if you eventually add lockers, bigger tires, lots of gear etc.

LT swap is probably one of the best mods you can do. You can always bring extra 10 spline shafts if you don't change.

My 93 had 10 spline plus BW and was locked frt / rear. We also traveled heavy with a full roof rack. We went many places in that Rover and nothing drivetrain ever failed. It really depends on driving skill and terrain on how crazed you need to go for "up-grades".

I don't really care about rock crawling. more into hunting, camping, fishing, snow wheeling, and slightly mudding that's about all I'll do. only rocks I'll be running over is on the trail. I have pulled the drive flange off and looked at the other end and its a 10 spline
