Only set up a facebook a/c last week so i could monitor my sons activities on FB (uncool to have a parent as a friend)
Interesting to hear from old friends, (dawning realization that there was a reason i had not stayed in touch, and apparently my memory is rather selective according to the email responses regarding how i may have left certain past relationships!
Only found this thread now because Dweb has been down so frequently. There are several people from this forum i sent "genuine" friend requests which are now probably lost in the flurry of dweb friend request's.

IMHO facebook and sites of that nature are GHEY. Not only does it require time and effort to keep up with them, but people post waaaay too much personal information online (something that stays out there). If i want to stay in contact with someone, i call or text and if they are not worth calling or texting then i probably dont care how they are doing altogether.
The big emphasis is on putting all your shit out there for the world to see, no matter if its a picture, personal data, etc. that just dont sit well with me.

Haha, no old fart here, i just value guarding personal information above the entertaining value of posting tons of pics of myself and others all over the net or divulging personal information of any sort all over the place. If thats what some like, right on, just not for me.
just because other people post ridiculous pictures and post personal data doesn't mean you have to; Furthermore, you can put your personal information on lock down for all but certain select contacts.
I think it's more likely you are anti-facebook because you think you are "cool" or "unique" because "homey don't play that" or perhaps, " you are addicted to using "air quotes"" and don't know how to type without them.
But I don't think that's it at all I think you are just showing off for discoweb and you are really an facebook WHORE ! By "whore" I don't mean that you litteraly fuck facebook for money, that would be ridiculous. What I mean is that you "friend" everyone and anyone, similar to how a whore will fuck everyone, though the whore wants paid in dollars or "barbiturates" you want paid in the perceived social recognition that manifests itself by you perceiving that you have become, though not in reality, being mister AND misses popular. I further postulate that you are both a man and a woman, for only a woman would be this bitchy about some meaningless internet website, therefore fulfilling her destiny and "bitching" about it on good old discoweb.
