I didn't get a field to put my name in there, so I clicked again. My mistake if you get more the one request from me.

Yeah I thought there was a place there to input text but there isn't. Doesn't matter, I've been confirming everyone. If someone starts spamming or whatever they get the boot, which has only been one person so far. I think we are up to 100+ members and almost 1000 pictures posted. Crazy.

Rob,
Please send me a bag of that shit. Phish is in town this Saturday. I'll PM you my address.

Jen,
I know everything about you. I even know about the Bi encounters.

Michaels,
I don't accept friends request from people I do not know very well. Well, except Blue - I just wanted to see pics of his wife. I know about her Bi encounters as well.

Funny how a few people on here seem to always have the same opinions and follow along with others despite the subject being discussed. Nothing negative, just an observation.

funny how some people on here just don't get it. no matter how long they're around, how many discussions they enter in to, whom they feel they've befriended, or how much they "think" they get it. they still don't, that's what is funny.

That's because some of us are highly intelligent and some of you are morons. Nothing negative, just an observation.

Yeah, that was a tongue-in-cheek joke. I think we share the same opinion when it comes to Facebook.

before I knew I was just a victim of some insanely subtle life long marketing campaign that made believe that my beloved pile of shit was a vehicle of epic expeditions and naked pygmy's dancing around like those sugar plums in that Christmas song that I cant remember at the moment.
Rob, this is awesome, plain f'n awesome!
Count me in for the class action suit against Land Rover!

Thank God I didn't buy that pile of shit of 1962 109 thirteen years ago... But I bought another pile of shit instead...

not bad.

Tchaikovsky? nutcracker?

Interesting, I didn't mean the nutcracker song by that name, but rather the poem.

"Account of a visit from St. Nicholas"

1 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all thro' the house,
2 Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
3 The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
4 In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
5 The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
6 While visions of sugar plums danc'd in their heads,

It's true I am still under the influence of the campaign. I am conscious of the myth of Land Rover but yet I love all my piles of shit. And they have actually delivered on thier promise of meeting new people and going to some really cool hard to reach places, despite being piles of shit. The trick to it all is that i somehow still give the truck credit for delivering on the marketing BS. But it was all me, I did these things, and I could have driven anything. Problem is I've invested too much time in the rovers and feel its too late to start over, so here I am stuck. It will all be better when I get that Hicap 110 pickup... lol

I have a similar feeling - but I've also had the same feeling when I had that big Cherokee. No big deal. Besides, there just isn't much of other 4x4 stuff to learn.

The best part is that every time I get discouraged by one of these trucks, one of the others does something right. And then to top it all off, driving this 'new' stock truck is bringing back all those ad campaign feelings and a great deal of nostalgia for the days I first drove a rover. You just can't help but love these pieces of shit!!

The whole Facebook idea and the rest of technology, while may not be as socially debilitating to some of the grown-ups, I personally see it as having a negative effect on the younger generation. No matter where you go, you hear Twitter, FB, etc. Also teens and grown ups alike spend copious amounts of time with cell phone in hand, either browsing various apps, downloading crap, etc. This just became more apparent when i went out to dinner with a few co-workers the other night and instead of having a conversation while we were waiting for a table, four of them were playing with their cell phone. Its like a widespread epidemic.
