Expo has me all worked up. Why are the L322 and LR4 rear lights so fucking ugly? The D2, LR3, and P38 lights were fine. They didn't draw attention away from the body design. They didn't look like some piece of shit ebay special. They didn't look like the designer drove a 1998 IS 300 to work, and Supra for the weekends. How do you LR4/L322 drivers fucking live with yourselves?

I pointed out the rear of an LR3 to a buddy who has minimal LR familiarity. Then I pointed out the rear of an LR4 and asked what the difference was. He replied "those faggot lights". :banghead:

I am impressed you got away with the 'Optimus Prime ass cheeks' comment, mods must be sleeping over there for the moment.

Next topic will be D4 facelift or DRL's.

Don't get me wrong, I have played around with aesthetics on my LR3 a little mostly out of boredom since it's my only toy out here but the rear lights are def one of the things they got right and are now heading in the wrong direction.

Gerry McGovern. Giving what he wants to the folks who buy vehicles for the name and brand only and don't give two shits about what the product actually looks like.

I wanted an LR4. I bought a GX470 because I hate big ass rims and altezza style tail lights. Which is slightly ironic considering the Lexus IS started that tail light trend.

Yes I'm petty like that.

I'll admit I put an LR4 style grill on my LR3, but because they did a great job on the LR4 front end. It's painted factory color. No one notices it. It just looks right. The LR3 front end always looked odd to me. Too many repeating blocky horizontal lines.

Drove a new SVR Range Rover Sport this week and I liked that thing plenty. Had to make sure whoever buys it gets all 550 horsepower he pays for. It's all in a days work you know, just looking out for them.

I am not a big fan of the clear look of the tail lights....so I ordered a set of the blacked out ones. I really hope I like them better.

I gave up on expo a long time ago. The Mitsubishi section is at least a little better. But they obviously always side with the butt hurt or the vendor.

I'd be interested in seeing those. I agree about the clear tail lights, but I do like LED. I wish the LR3 lights were LED.

On a not very related subjects, has anyone noticed that if you have a turn signal burned out in an LR3 that it doesn't actually blink fast? The light on the dash does, but the lights on the outside of the vehicle just blink at their normal speed. It makes me wonder if something could be updated in software on the CJB to add LR4 style LED lights without having to install the big resistors.
