Fault codes 1187 & 1317

I need some help. Searched all over this site with no luck. 97 D1 w/ 80k miles.

The Disco has been idling poorly for a while. By that I mean when coming to a stop, the idle drops, and occasionally stalls. If it doesn't stall, the idle will kick up a little, but not where it should be.

Before I got any codes, I changed the plugs, cleaned IACV and ran some seafoam through it. Problem continued. Finally got CEL, and codes were P1187 and two P1317s.

P1317--ABS rough road line low fault detected.
P1187--HO2S Heater short circuit upstream sensors

Replaced IACV. Slightly better, but still a problem. Seems to be the same whether it is warm or not, with slight improvement when its warm.

I don't know that the codes are related. (probably not) The ABS was shot when I got the truck, so I just pulled the fuse under the steering wheel, and pulled the dash light. Brakes work fine.

What next? Should I just get new O2 sensors, or is the rich condition that fouled the sensors going to continue?

Thanks in advance.

How many miles on you truck?
O2's over 75,000 plus miles will start to fail. If they are bad it is not necessarily because the engine ran rich and fouled them, they could just be shot.
Assuming everything else is OK with the truck O2's would probably be a big help.

Thanks for the input. I guess I'll be getting new O2's unless anyone has a better idea. Any thoughts on the brake codes?

On my 97 D1, it will throw the abs rough road code because the fuse is pulled. As for the other code, you probably did in those O2 sensors with the Seafoam.

I guess I feel like I'm in a chicken and egg quandry. Which came first? Were the O2 sensors going bad, causing the low idle, and finally killed by seafoam? Or was something else causing the low idle, seafoam killed O2's, and now idle is worse?

Also, why a "heater short circuit upstream sensors" and not a specific bad O2? Can they be cleaned to fix the problem?

Thanks again for the help. Any little bit is greatly appreciated.

Stroud--thanks for the ABS info. I guess I'll ignore that one.

Chris, Check the condition of wires and the connections for the O2 sensors. I wouldn't sweat the Seafoam too much, but if you end up replacing the sensors, don't subject them to the same treatment.

Stroud--thats what I figured I'd do first. Pull them and check them out. The only problem is that I don't have a garage, and it started snowing last night, so looks like it'll have to wait til tomorrow. Lubbock TX, snow today, mid 60s tomorrow. Gotta love it. :D
