Booker T and the Memphis Group was NOT a one hit wonder. They were simply the MOST INFLUENTIAL R&B band in the world. Paul McCartney actually met the MGs at the London Airport and knelt down and KISSED Steve Cropper's ring. They have a rhythm section that can turn goat piss into gasoline.

Booker T and the MGs are not a One-hit-wonder. The are the MOST INFLUENTIAL band in the world.

"Most" - my opinion.

"Influential" - Undebatable.

One hit wonder - Norman Greenbaum - Spirit in the Sky

A list such as this cannot be complete without mention of A-Ha. Are they really a one hit wonder? Probably not, but most in America don't know they still play.

I like that song, too - except I prefer the german version. The german lyrics make more sense, the english translation is just silly. And the balloons were never red, they just added that to make the syllables fit the song. But who cares, it's a great tune.

Actually, they completed their farewell tour and finally broke up last year. Then they played together for the very last time at Oslo Spektrum on August 21, 2011, for a national memorial service dedicated to the victims of the 2011 Norway attacks. They played 'Stay on these roads', which is a more solemn tune from their catalog.

A-Ha are only known for 'Take on me' and 'The Sun always shine on TV' in the US, but has had numerous hits in the rest of the world over the years.
