Here it is, only took like 2 years with everything else in life getting in the way. Still need to make a couple of stops in the back of everything to keep things a little quieter, but overall I am very happy with it.

Based on a slightly modified Tuffy box for a Jeep. Added cladding, built the mini storage compartment which holds 4(!) folding chairs. Then built the custom pull out shelf using slides from McMaster plus lots of aluminum and stainless fasteners. Finished it off with the different latches to hold things closed, and open. Really a stupid amount of work, but that's the way it goes.

Here is a link, let me know what you think...

Which model box is that?

Looks great. I especially like the sliding "diaper changing station" as it appears to offer another alternative to the rear door mounted folding cook stations that others have created.

Nice job!

Thanks for all of the kind words, I am pretty happy with it, now that it is done!

To answer some of the questions:

Stamos - That was my Buick. Now sold thanks to the new economy. (I had to "re-distribute" it.)

Adriatic04 - The golf clubs go under the front tires.

Regarding the table - It did come out very nice, but I was thinking it would be nice to also have a folding table since I can't open the drawer all the way to get any tools out of the back of the drawer if the table is out. In version 1.0 the table was made out of MDF counter top. For this version I pulled the MDF out, modified the original frame that we made to hold the MDF and then made the top. The trick part was making the front trim out of diamond plate with a 90 degree break in it and screwing to the front after it was powder coated. That way it all looks pretty seamless from the front, but when it is open the table is flat. I didn't think the Dude would want to get his diaper change on diamond plate, and I didn't want to make sandwiches on diamond plate either. As an added bonus the aluminum was way lighter than the MDF.

S Marks - I can't remember the model of the box since I bought it like 3 years ago. It was the biggest and deepest they made at the time. I think it was for a CJ. I notched the back corner of the box frame so I could push it all the way to the left, since the DII wheel well actually comes into the cargo area quite a bit.

For the mini door we actually had to make a little frame to accommodate and strengthen the door. Of course the frame is bolted in with ARP hardware, which you can't see unless you look inside, but oh well.

Anyway, thanks again for the complements and let me know if anyone has any more questions.

The Lou!
That thing is just ridiculously cool and very well crafted it appears. Nice clean, tight fit. :applause: ...because a golf clap just simply isn't enough.
