Hi Guys,

Once again my rover has odd lights lighting up on it :p.

So I wake up to go to work today and find that I have the S and M lights flashing at my face :(

I used a code reader and found no codes. The manual said it means there is an electrical fault with the automatic gear box. I did some googling and found out that it could be many things but most often it is a dying battery, or a faulty sensor.

I just wanted to check in with you guys and see what you think. Should I try and replace the battery or go direly to replacing he crankshaft position sensor? Or if anybody else has any other ideas.

Some background. This is a 2003 Disco, car ran fine the day before, but the next morning I had the flashing lights. I did not see the lights flashing at me when I parked my car for the night.

Thanks for the help in advanced.

Get out your volt meter and check the battery voltage.

I had the same issue, jumped the battery, and was OK for about a day then died again. new battery took care of the problem.

TY all!

I replaced the battery and all is well now. I had the old one tested at Auto Zone and they said it was bad!

No more green flashing lights on my dash!

Thanks again!

Hey guys, I had the same thing happen to me. I turned out to be a loose battery conection. The computer figured it didn't have enough voltage. I cranked the clamp down and all is well.
