I must agree with ROVERLESS on the starcraft. Having the toilet in there has made thing much easier on the wife. That thing is bigger than you might think. Comfortable for 5 adults, and goes almost anywhere we do. Can't wait to leave this dump to do some more camping!!!

These pictures make it look kind of small inside, but it should give you an idea.

Thanks - the dumbed-down photos on the Fleetwood site don't do this thing justice. How does the Disco handle when pulling this thing? Should I even ask about what it does to your mileage?

Mine has the same interior except the curtains are slightly different. Behind the 04 Disco, it's easy to forget it's even back there. I didn't have a brake controller the first time I towed it from VA to NY, then to VT and it did fine. Even better with the brakes working.

When I bought ours, the dealer said he would do the brake controller. I said "no way Jose", even though his name was Ian. I don't think they've ever worked on a Land Rover, much less a '95 RR. I could just see them messing something up, and if someone is going to mess something up in my truck, it will be me.

So I spent the better part of yesterday removing 413 pieces of plastic trim to run wire for the brake controller, battery charger, and misc future extras. Next weekend will be spent making sure I didn't mess something up.

Thanks for the link. I did check out the Starcraft series trailers, but only online. We might swing by a place to check them out prior to purchase.

The toilet thing surprised the heck out of me. I researched all different models trying to find one with a toilet and shower. I figured that was a minimum to make my wife happy. So when she and I checked out the Evolution trailers, she immediately nixed the toilet! She wants one without! Said it was too close to the cooking area and grossed her out. I said "but what about the shower option"? Nope. She said we can hose the kids off outside, and we can rig up a shower thing for us. Right on!

Well, the shower would be handy, but you are not going to catch me with a camper or using a toilet in a camper that has a little curtain around the toilet. Maybe you folks that are used to changing diapers are cool with it, but I refuse to have a shitter that is no where near air tight and does not have ventilation.

Bri, Ok we have a theory that conversations when camping always come back to the shit ;) I will say having a toilette in the camper is not bad at all the chemicals they make to go in to help break down the poo, works really, really well. Plus the holding tank is actually double sealed from the inside of the camper when it is closed. I will be honest and say that I haven't used it for #2 but the wife, Spydrjon, and Stu154 have used it and I haven't heard them complain. Nor have I smelled anything after the fact.
As far as being close to the kitchen, that I can understand we do most of our cooking outside :) Also they make a shower that actually installs outside of the camper. I do believe it is an available option on both the evo and the RT series of campers.

LOL. I have a porta potty that sat in my tent camper for the 5 years that I used the camper. Porta potty never used.

Ressurecting this thread....

I am purchasing a battery for my Evolution trailer. Should my selection process be any different than buying one for my truck? I figure I should go with a deep cycle battery, and since it's an off-road trailer, I should go with something vibration resistant. So that brings me to the usual assortment of Optimas and Exide Orbitals. Is this overkill for a camping trailer?

I just went with a good rv deep cycle from Autozone and it worked well for me tent camper. I took it out in the winter and placad it someplace warm.

I have two interstate deep cycle batteries on my Evolution... I ran lights and water pump for 3 days on a single one without a problem.
