I am curious of how good/effective are the Safari 5000 lights from LR.

To my opinion they look good but I have not experience or any info from someone who have them. If a D2 already have fog lights on lower area on the bumper, are they consider more like a driving lights or in fact they are clear fog lights?

Are they any bid differences on the 5000 fog and driving lights?

Thanks guys

Figman,

The fog lights down on the air dam are for illuminating the road in fog-like conditions. Bright lights that are too high (like high beams) simply illuminate the fog or snow and actually create poor visability. The low fog lights shine low enough to be effective.

The Hella 5000 are more like driving or cornering lights. They illuminate the road or trail. The 5000 have a 55 watt bulb, and are very expensive. When compared to what you could get if you buy Hella 4000, there is no comparison. The 4000 is more effective, and less expensive ($245 for pair with harness).

Just my $0.02
