Wow, it's hard believe two years have passed since I last posted. Here's what she looks like after a frame swap. The color chosen was just my idea of how I wanted her to look. It's the LR Willow Green using an LR paint code.

While I was originally planning to do the swap myself (with a little help from friends and family). I decided against it because the bulkhead posts were both in bad shape. This, of course, requires removal of bulkhead and all parts that attach to it, seat box, wings, wiring, steering, etc, etc.. I then found someone locally to do the work for me. It cost $4000 in labor plus more than $2500 in replacement parts. But after all is said and done, I don't regret it as it was more than I was willing or capable of doing.

Oh, also note the D90 roll cage and D90 safari roof rack and basket. The ladder still needs to be fitted, but it's almost there.

Congrats on the finished project !That is a sweet looking truck and I'm sure everyone can appreciate the time , effort and $$ put into it. I'd love to see some more pics posted . I'm sure I'll eventually be doing the same with my 109 as the frame has seen better days and hopefully will be as successful as yours.

great looking rover! I have a question on the picture of the red one next to yours. What is going on with the window tops being held in place further back? has anyone seen this? Looks like a interesting storage spot. cheers and congrats on the project, got any more pics?

I did a frame swap on my 109 by using the ECR method. With a good grinder, an air-ratchet and some buddies we were able to get the old frame out and the rolling chassis moved over to the new frame in a day. I just jacked the body up with a couple highlifts and some saw-horses...worked like a charm. It took me some time to get the new wiring harness in since the body was off it was a good opporunity to do it.

Here's a link to the time-lapsed movie I made of the frame removal.

Thanks, guys! I just brought her home after getting the Solex carburetor rebuilt.

I'm creating an album and will post new pics often. At the moment, all the pics are pre-frame swap. I'll post the URL when I have more pics.

Gordo, I have seen one other Series truck in Willow Green, great color. IIRC, it was posted for sale on landroverexchange.com

XD, nice find with that pic. That hottie, is my friend Valerie. She is on a new project, and she looks just as hot in that one.
