i am in fort worth texas. I am not new to rovers having built an 03 once already with 04 tcase lift tru tracs et al. I sold it and bought a 92 4 runner to punish on the trails but rovers get in your blood. I really like the terra firma looks and have friends that can do most anything but just need to know that its possible to cut a hole for the fog lights before spending money.

If any one has a terra firma and is willing to stiock their head underneath and take a couple pics of the back side it would be appreciated

I had the TJM (w fogs) on my 04. Looked great especially compared to ARB. But it was light duty steel, same as the ARB.

Our local shop just put a Terrafirma on a 03/04. Great profile and looked like it belonged. This isn't the truck but you get the idea......

I've designed a front bumper as well, mainly for myself. Various parts and coatings have been tested already. I planned on cranking out ten of them to offer for sale after mine is finished, but then I realized this is a Land Rover community.

Staring at a rack full of bumpers you tight-wads won't buy is the last thing I need.:D

Cheers,

Kennith
Do you have a rough sketch of it? I want to see if I would rather have a Kennith bumper than my SG bumper.

I can take some pics of the underside today. Would be easier to send you the pics by text as I won't have the laptop with me. If that works for you, send me a text at 910-232-5067. Or, if you have a Blackberry or iPad, I can show you over video chat, then you can direct me as to what you want to see.

I tried to buy the tjm but it is no longer available. I liked the looks of it and it would have met my needs.

Yea, I was very happy with it. Stock, the TJMs are grey so had to have mine painted black which helped it blend in.

That TF is a nice unit with good lines. Tucked in nicely and not a snow plow sticking out front like the pick of the tactical armor in the link.

I have a related question.
What is the difference between ABS vs. Non-ABS bullbar, bumper?

Here is what I am after.

I want to modify stuck Disco bumper for the winch. (I don't want new bumper).
In the process of modification of the new bumper, I don't want to screw up my ABS compatibility.

Hence the question what is the difference between aftermarket ABS compatible and NON-ABS Bullbar (bumper)

Cheers!

Thanks mates and sorry for the mistake, of course I meant SRS.

When I looked at the bumper mounts I thought that they had in fact had something to do with the air bags. I think I will be fine, I am trying to do one of those concealed winch mounts, where the winch is mounted to the frame on a tray behind the bumper so the fairlead is just below the bumper.

I will use the winch once in a while only.

You DO NOT want the airbag compliant bumper. It may hold up to some light winching/recovery. It will not hold up to unintended encounters with immovable objects. My friend has an ARB airbag bumper. He was going up a hill with some small steps. Due to the shitty ARB approach angle the front left side of his bumper contacted one of the steps. The crush can crumpled, his ARB got pushed in, and his fender got ruined. Yes my friend was using a little too much throttle but I know for a fact that he would have been fine with a non-airbag bumper.

Lloyd give Steve a call at RTE. When I was up there about 2 years ago picking up my rear bumper he had a slimline that he added the fog light mounts to for a customer. I really liked the looks of that one but already had purchased the ARB for the same reasons as you are looking for. He mentioned he could do the mounts for either the slimline or the wideface.
The only thing I did not like about the RTE was having to do the washer bottle relocation. On my 04 the SAI pump would be in the way of where I would relocate it to.
PS: Will you be at SCARR this year?

Not making scarr this year, Disco is not even close. I had heard that steve was no longer with Rte and they were having issues. Still undecided on bumpers but mine is startingvto disintegrate so need to do something soon.

Anytime someone says RTE, I have to mention Rust. Mines worse than my undercarriage.

There are some good RTE bumpers out there..... and some Rusty ones. And I'm not talking after 5 years, I'm talking instant fucking failure. Still burns me up.
