Speedy Sleeves ?

Hello,

2000 DII - 120k

I'm getting some pretty bad leakage from the front main seal.

Speedi-Sleeves?

does this work?

How hard is it to do - how much time ?

Does anyone have the part number?

Thanks,

Rob

do a search and you will find the thread that provides seal numbers, speedi-sleeve part number and a good description on how to do this.
It was pretty easy to accomplish and after 5K miles I am still dry.

After searching I found this:

Just an FYI for those who have the crankshaft seal leak issue and want to fix by using a speedie sleeve from Chicago Rawhide. Part number for my 4.0 is #99192.

Yo Bruce, still dry? better check your oil level :D
yes standard seal, important that you install the sleeve just far enough onto the crank so that the seal rides on it, seems simple enough, but its easy to tap it on a lil too far, just install and check for fit,

Ha! Still dry David, however, I know I have oil in there, that rear-main seal reminds me every morning when I walk out and see new signs of garage-floor-rover-art.
