I dont have time to reseal it before my next trip. Although I agree that would be the proper way to fix it.

None of the bolts look worse than this one. Im going to clean the threads put a lock washer and blue loctite on it and hope for the best.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Should take roughly 2 hours to complete the job, not too bad. Worth doing...diffs don't like not being properly lubed.

Titanium bolts man, titanium.

I agree, clean them up and use blue loctite, or I have used RTV sealer when I did the diff install.

Im replacing the bolts, and using blue loctite with lock washers. Problem is my local hardware store only had 6 of the 10 bolts I needed. Im hoping to find the rest tomorrow and get this done.

New bolts, lock washers and blue loctite. Done.. drove it around town for a little while and no leaks!

On to the next project.

Reason #10,346 not to use that type diff guard.

I wouldnt hesitate to buy another one of these if for some reason this one broke. They've been on the truck for close to 4yrs now and have saved my ass on more than one occasion. No issues with it at all until now. As you can see it gets plenty of abuse.

I have punctured the axle housing...from the inside of course.

I like wraparounds for the amount of coverage, as well as the fact that most are protected from corrosion. The ones I have now are galvanized, in Vermont everything rusts. Even plastic
