I have the Front wheel off , no wonder lugs break some of them must been torqued 180+ going to pull the Caliper and then the Rotor.. Had to go buy a 1 1/4 socket for the Hub Nut.. am I going to run into something that will be a Problem. If I see correctly the bearings are in the hub held on with 4 Bolts does anyone have Pics. I have the Cut view but cannot tell.. Need a good exploded view.. Edit .. Should have read J Paulins Post before I wrote this ... Perfect Hub shot... The wheel locked up and made a bad noise and killled the engine . But drove it home at 20 mph 3 miles and only was making ticking noise.. So we will see tomorrow...

Have you checked out the hub replacement procedure in RAVE (Land Rover workshop tech manual, available for free to download)? If you don't have that already, it's a valuable resource.

What the Hell is going on around here? Lakeland is close to Orlando by phone... Shoot me a pm and i'll walk you through this in :43 seconds...

But seriously, download the RAVE shop manual... You can not go wrong with it.

If you are doing bearings just remove caliper with brake lines left connected. Remove hub assembly and drift the old race out. Reverse steps and drive. Then try replacing wheel bearings trailside so you can have cooler stories. Get the hub nut socket for $15 from some Rover parts joint....... Come to the fall rally so we can break your truck, then fix it.

You have a D2, right? Don't you just unbolt and hang the caliper out of the way, pull the rotor(set screw I think?), and remove the single hub nut??

FishE11 You are correct the caliper is hung out of the way. I don't want to beat on the Rotor to get it off .. and the Stake Nut is torqued to 360ft lbs..Is the rotor locked with a screw or bolt ?? I jumped up and down on my 1/2" breaker bar and with a pipe and it bent like a diving board. gonna get a 3/4" Drive bar tomorrow.. and a longer cheater Bar.. If it was drive-able I would take it to a truck shop and use a Impact.
I am afraid I could break the Park Pin with too much strain on it....

I really don't know much about D2's, but I thought there was a Phillips head screw on the face of the rotor. No?
Download the RAVE and read the procedure.

I see I can leave the Nut on and pull the axle with the Hub by removing 4 bolts but, the nut still has to come off to replace the bearings... This is in the wave manual .. My cousin is going to come help he has The 3/4 tools from working on his Semi Truck. fishEH yep the rotor does have a screw. on the face between the studs...

Big woop I got the Hub nut off.. But nothing else will move . Rotor still on . I am going to pull the 4 bolts behind the Hub and see if I can pull the complete small shaft out and get the rotor and the shaft pressed. don't know what else to do,,

WoW Thanks RiceyBean wish I had those links a couple days ago. only problem was the magic torquing air gun.
I won't torque the nut, but with a cheater bar on 1/2 breaker bar.. should do about 150 ft lbs...then I will stake the Nut the other one was not staked.. gonna buy the HF 5 Ton Hyd. puller as well because not replacing the Rotor.. Then I shall pull the Drive shaft and replace the centering knuckle and 3 u-joints..I took pics but can't get them transferred from my Camera.. they say wrong USB cable.. I will pull the sd card later...
