fuel pump extra power

so 98 disco died on me last night drivin home. heres what i know so far.

plug sending power to the pump has power in 3 of 4 wires (all except white/purple) when unplugged. when plugged in to pump all have power.

pump does not prime when key is turned.

havent checked spark, but not sure why no spark would mean strange power at pump.

need help... its my olny vehicle!

in utah... call me if ya got any ideas 801-913-4616 and it would be quicker to talk...

bad ground or dead pump. check the white purple for ground when unplugged. if it has ground, try beating on the bottom of the tank to shake the pump. if the pump runs, youll only have a few days maybe to replace and it may fail again at any time. good luck

update:

have no power to pump, i disconnected the battery for a few minutes and power seemed to be back to normal, just no power at the pump.

currently have a jumper running from rear cargo light to fuel pump and the disco runs like normal...

replaced multifunction relay which is pose to control the fuel pump power, but no work...

any more ideas? what else goes bad:? the collision switch?

you can just jump the inertia switch to make sure that's not it or just pull it off and do a continuity test between the terminals. if it's reset and there is continuity it's fine. Check all the grounds at the front of the truck too. If the ground to the fuse block is corroded it'll do funny things. I have a disco2 that had the same thing going on and turned out to be a dirty ground to the fuse block.

follow the the power there is a connector
look through the wheel well
test there then keep working forward
