Actually, if you get the speed right, your tires only hit the tops of each, and the ride isn't bumpy. Of course, it's very easy to lose control doing that.

The trailer to the full movie looks like an awesome trip, makes me wish I lived somewhere where I actually needed the capability my rover has as opposed to looking for places to test it just to see what it can do.

I only get the audio, no video.

Mythbusters did a thing on washboard roads. Seems their data contradicted the 'seat of the pants' feel about which was smoother.

I just about put an F-250 in a ditch driving across an Indian "highway" in northern az. Just the right combination of speed, ruts and 3/4ton bounce.

Corrugations? Everyone knows the proper term is washboard;)

In Austalia they are known as corrugations so within context this is correct The image than Washboard conjures is something short, that has defined ends. Sorry, but this image does not cater for a couple of thousand kilometres of them

I wish I lived there too!! This movie was made back in 2002 when I lived in AU for a few months. Every day I dream of going back ...

Funny thing, my mate Glen (the one you see on the video, a native Aussie) never really did any 4wd tours of Australia before (he's a marine biologist, so I guess we can't fault him too much for that) but throughout the whole trip the ol Landy really impressed him. About a year after I left, I got an excited call from Glen telling me he got his first truck; a Toyota Troop Carrier! Nice.

I've hit the magic speed after driving painfully slow for miles only to have toyota pickup pass me at 30 something mph. i couldn't believe it so i said what the hell... hehe its true though before you get to the magic speed its very bad. actually slowing down is whats the worst. you motor along only to have section of the road washed away makes a nice little motor mount killer.
