I replacing all of my radiator hoses soon and ditching the inline thermostat in favor of a 180° soft spring thermostat. I have had no performance issues with the inline modification but if I'm getting all new hoses I can't see the point in cutting them up if I can run at the lower temperature keeping with the original design. I see that some folks here on d-web are running G12 VW/Audi coolant. My wife drives a 2010 Audi A3 and it would make sense to only have one type of coolant for the two vehicles. Also, I don't hear good things about the Peak Extended Life stuff that I'm currently using. I'm also considering switching to Peak Global Lifetime................I don't know, any recommendations?

I use g13(newest) version, no issues, only draw back is availability and price. Buy from your Vw dealer, about 24 bucks a gallon unmixed. Make sure you don't mix it with peak or dexcool, flush it good as we'll.

Thanks for the responses.

I want to get rid of the Peak + Tap Water combo I have now. Its not even the Global Lifetime, just the Extended Life. I plan on changing the coolant in my Wife's Audi every two years, it's already been changed it once. I haven't heard anything bad about the G13. I checked the part number for the coolant I got for the Audi at the dealer and it's G13 not G12 like I said earlier.

I can't remember..........How much coolant should I have on hand for a drain and fill on the DII?
