Gear selector extension after 2" body lift?

In the process of installing a 2" body lift on a 1996 D1 V8 (4.0L NAS/R380 5spd), I had to move the truck and could not engage reverse. The body mount bolts are not tightened at all (i.e. bolt through bushings/washers and that's all), so I do expect the body to come down a tad when it will be all tightened and maybe the gear selector will clear the (back of the) gaiter/trim.

Do I need to worry about looking for a gear selector extension now? If yes, anything I should watch out for as I select the extension (method)?

Thanks!

You are probably fine after the body is sitting down all the way. That said i have never and would never body lift one but have a lot of experience with the r380 shifter. You can get a synchro gears slick shift to tighten up the throw. I also shorten the shifter 4 inches when doing the slick shift and it makes these shift amazing. i cut out the rubber isolator from the top of the shift handle extension and reweld it together. You might be hitting that rubber isolator with the body lifted up. You can also if needed cut the body metal in the tunnel with out concequence. As for the center consul when you have it all together if it is hitting the plastic i have a solution for that too. I have water jet and bent my own d1 center consul ski slope. i can configure the location of the shifter hole anywhere on it so you could move it back and just cut the plastic underneath to accomodate. (i have a D2 consule in mine so the hole under the ski slope is nowhere close to the D1) I dont sell these but i can have one made for you. I just have a water jet guy and needed one for myself so i made them.
