I run 265/55 R16 General Grabber AT2's on my 2000 D2 and they're GREAT! Definatly recommend them, and the price is unbeatable for the performance of the tyre you're looking at. They've also turned plenty of heads of guys running the BFG AT's or MT's that I've been out with as I've made it through the same spots as them with just as little effort!

Plus the stud ability for snow/winter driving conditions if needed.

OLD Thread I know but with the stock suspension and stock rims have you guys with the GG AT2's had any problems? I am looking at picking up a set.

I like the deep snow rating and the ice rating wasn't bad considering we get 5ft of snow (atleast) up hear in the winter.

Feedback would be great

I've heard the Generals are ok but don't wear very well. I considered them a few years ago to replace my BFG ATs but ended up just going with the BFG again. You can beat the price but you can't beat the wear and durability of the BFG. I have enjoyed them in the snow as well, but not in the ice!

I've had a set of the general grabbers on my truck and they are not worn out after over 60,000 miles (mostly highway). They aren't too loud and are decent off road.

I have 30k on a set of AT2's and they will be my next set. I have been trying to tear them up for a year and they hold up great off road. Minimal road noise and are wearing perfectly flat on the DII. I just want bigger:)

My Grabbers are 5 years old with about 35,000 miles on them and they have worn well. Apart from wear due to an alignment issue the tread is still pretty good and the tear out minimal. Typically a lot of highway to get to a trail or to camp then lots of gravel, loose rock and exposed bedrock with some muck/mud thrown in. In the winter they are quite good.

The price makes them a good alternative to the BF Goodrich although they may be more of a true "truck" tire.

Currently have 5k miles of primarily highway/commuter miles on my truck. Vehicle was previously shod with OME Goodyear tires. First thing I noticed immediately upon installation/tire balance/nitrogen fill was 1) a large increase range/mpg improvement; and 2) surprisingly quiet running at hwy speed. 5k miles later - very satisfied and no problems with wear.

My two cents, if you do the preventative maintenance... things like rotating the tires and doing 4x4 alignments regularly (especially if you run your truck off-road or in/out of commuter hell potholes) will go a long way to getting your money's worth from tire sets.

BFG AT K/O are great in mud and snow. The general grabbers do not clean as well in the mud but are great in the snow.

Get the BFG if you can afford them.

Good luck trying to find a set of AT2's. Most places are out of stock, and when I called to see when they would be back in, discount tires direct told me they're being discontinued.

Revival of a thread from '07... Ha.

Im just going to throw in my 2¢ here. I am running on Retreads from TreadWright. Awesome tire! I have the Guard Dogs. They call them a Mud Terrain. There not, more like an extreme all terrain tire. But they are superb tires! I have driven nearly 7k on them since I bought them. Not much millage for a real review, but they have been great. I have gone on a trip to Colorado at about 800 miles one way right after I installed them. No problems. Took them straight up to some mountain trails. They are smooth, pull straight and so far they have worn just fine, this on on the pavement. They have a nice little hum, its very peaceful. They are good in all the conditions I have driven in... no snow yet. I have driven in heavy rain on the highway, thick clayish mud, climbing steep wet loose rocks, gravel roads... you name it, everything other than snow. I bought them at $100 a tire. Shipping was only $68 for all four. I recommend TreadWright! I get great comments about how they look... my fav is that people say my Rover looks like a tractor now... haha. I love it! :D

Check them out... www.TreadWright.com
