For what seems a decent price, my b-in-law found four used General Grabber AT2 tires 255/70/16 with deep threads.
Its not really a +1 size from the stock 2000 DII tire, so would there be any problems mounting on the oem rim, & I assume there would be no rubbing as she has a 2" lift.
But, has anyone used these tires, this size, any problems & opinion on handling in wet/snow.
thanks
Tony

Have them, like them a lot. They handle the wet and snow very well, I'm actually thinking I might just get another set when these finally wear out. The only thing they don't like is the thick, sloppy mud.

..and now that they have a M/T, that might be my choice.

Bought the tires and got them mounted. A little bit nosier then the old Toyo's but handle fine. Asked b-in-law, to keep an eye out for an extra tire for the spare.
Then got a Check Engine Light right after the tires were mounted. Seems I didn't close the gas cap properly after my last fill up. Re-sealed it, drove around a bit and light reset itself.

I put a set of four 255/65/16's on my DI. They were brand new and came in on a truck I was parting. I backed out the bump stops to avoid contact with the front radius arm and wound up increasing the turning radius a bit but otherwise am very please with these tires. I am also amazed at how much more steady the DI is on the highway at speeds up to 80 mph (I'm an old man and don't really go much faster than that these days). For me, the increase in the width of the tire coupled with the AT2's quality really has enhanced the ride in the DI.

Hi Paul! Haven't touched base with you in a while so I hope all is well. On my DII, I like them too, seemed to grip the road well in that last batch of rain we had. A little noisier than the Toyo OC AT but it does not get annoying. When I go on holiday vacation, I'll give you a call/pm to run up for a small part or two. Tony
