I am getting mixed messages on the drive shaft issue, Many of the other posts on here only add ore uncertainty on the issue of conversion to C.V. . In my experience with other rigs i've lifted you always need to replace the shafts, shocks and brake lines.....Then again the disco is way on the other side of the spectrum. And what about steering nobody even mentions the steering, Longer drag link, dropped arm, raised knuckle, I'm not new to this just looking to avoid any headaches since many of you have done this to a Disco before..
Some have vibes in the front shaft with a 3", some don't. Install the lift, and see where you fall. With no bumper/winch, you may have vibes, though. If so, get a used D2 front shaft, and the correct output flange for the transfer-case (90.00 from Nathan). Rebuild the double cardon drive shaft, and your golden.
Your steering will not be effected beyond drivability. But, with a 3" lift, you may want to look at the adjustable pan-hard rod, from RTE. That will bring the front end back to center. Another thing is your pinion angle with the 3" lift. you can use the RTE front links to match your lift, and bring your pinion back closer to spec, or go all the way with the re-drilled castor's. I like the caster route!! It's like "turning your knuckles" on a Toyota, but eaiser...
In the rear, depending on what your going to do, you may want to get the HD rear links. These can also "match" your lift. I went with the 3", johnny-jointed links. love em!!
