I helped raise $1.8M that day JDRF. I'll dress up like a fool for that.
Dan, this is no bullshit. That's really great to hear. The JDRF is an outstanding foundation. I've volunteered and contributed to our chapter in years past.
Wife's family has organized events over the last 20 years in Michigan raising over $4 million and counting.
You forgot the part where Devildog comes to Dan's rescue like a man to his bitch..
Might as well argue about .380 vs. 9mm vs. .40 vs. .45 while we're at it.
Maybe throw in .357sig/ 10mm/ 45gap/ 400corbon/ etc.
I vote 9mm or .40
9mm gets the job done and is easier to shoot than .40 or .45, and in most cases the pistol will hold more rounds.
.40 does more damage than 9mm (comparable to .45), but has very snappy recoil.
.45 does lots of damage, but the larger round makes it hard to fit lots of ammo in most pistols.
10mm is some very serious stuff, but you have to worry much more about everything beyond what you are shooting.
This is all based on high performance defensive rounds.
Eh, I say we just give up any gun-related arguments and instead just argue about things completely unrelated, so that we are even further from the original topic. Like if you had a unicorn, what would you name him/her? Once folks propose names, let us argue why one name is better than the other. :yawn
...P.S. What is indeed surprising, or maybe not, is that in the 15 pages of posts we never really looked at the Glock and Sig and compared the two platforms based on be it size, weight, location of controls, design, etc.
The 19 is more size efficient. The 229 is a SIG, but it's a New Hampshire SIG. It's also wide enough to land a small aircraft on top of the slide.
I touched on that a bit way back on page 1.
...we did not discuss it en masse; just gleamed over and continued trucking with the arguments unrelated to the initial topic.

bigred,
please just tell us you bought the glock and put a light on it so we can all make love for 15 more pages.
Holy Shit batman.. What a thread.
If ya care, Glock is coming out with a single stack 9. Supposedly in April. Model 43, if I remember correctly.
Again, If you care.
Already brought that up a few pages back... Also got my night sights for my tactical FDE Gen 4 Glock 19 today.
