Alright,
Reverting back to my racing days, removing the fan and clutch from the water pump pulley gave extra horsepower, plus allowed us to operate the fan whenever we needed it. We looked at it and think this will work for the Disco. If anyone has any info that would be helpful. I'll let you know what we ended up doing. Hopefully have it done by New Years.

MilSpec,
I'm doing that mod right now. I found a twin 12" fan set-up off of a 2000 Olds Alero in a junk yard that fits perfectly side-to-side between the radiator end caps. I modded brackets to secure it to the radiator without having to use those cheap zip-tie mounts (don't use them because they'll wear a hole in your radiator). I also added an override switch to the thermostat to turn the fans on manually. Twin fans should move enough air to keep things cool and also give the cooling system some redundancy if one fan quits. But just in case I installed a mechanical temp guage on my truck to monitor engine temp accurately (Don't rely on the stock temp guage, it'll show normal when you're hot or cold). We'll see how this set-up works rock crawling in a hot Texas summer in a few months.
Cheers

Kenlowe vs Pacet electric fans

Be careful of the Kenlowe fans- I contacted them via e-mail- they do not sell their fans in the US. I asked a good friend from South Africa- he is a Landy guru there. He lost 3 alternators to the current draw of the Kenlowe fans- they will draw massive amperage and can run for a long time in hot situations. He said Pacet fans will be the best- a LOT less current draw, and more CFM to boot. I'm looking at the Pro fans- 2x 12"- each one drawing 15 amps and 2100 CFM if memory serves me correctly. 4x4 Adventure Gear can get them from Scorpion racing- they don't directly import to US. They have a solid state thermo that is adjustable that goes on the upper rad hose.
