Just wondering if anyone has heard of a GOOD rover repair shop around Greenville SC? I use to use Eurorover but they sold out (I never knew how good I had it) Robert the owner did great work at a fair price. I don't mind driving a couple hours for good honest service and fair prices......anyone??????

I used a place right up above Charlotte once. I learned about them through this site and decided to give them a try. I really liked them, just too far away. I'll have to look through my reciepts box and get the shop name for you.

That would be really helpful, I'm in Charlotte and I'm still looking for a good shop. Thanks

there is NO good rover shop in gville (where i'm from). Robert was THE MAN and i will probably never find a shop that honest and concerend with saving the customer money. that guy saved my ass in a pinch multiple times. the gomer pyles' that bought the place are pretty bad. i've sent one person there, and when i went to pick up the truck i was very unimpressed. they arent even polite anyway. and its named "blind squirel auto" WTF? unfortunately, the only place i would send my rover is my own driveway. i've had to use foothills auto in anderson a few times, theyre okay. didn't you move to NC or something? i'm assuming you just moved back

There are a couple of new places that have opened up in the Asheville area. Torque Works out in Swannanoa. Blue Ridge Rover Works on Seweeten Creek road 828-274-2458. Another shop has opened up in the Mills River/Hendersonville area. I dont know the name but it was opened by a mechanic from Land Rover Asheville. I have never personally used and of these guys for repair. I know Shawn at Blue Ridge Rover Works and he is a great guy. :D Charles

Anyone ever use these guys? I drive past them on the way from work and always see atleast 1 or 2 Disco's sitting near the service area.

edit: Just called them, labor rate is $90.00 an hour.

Auto Works Unlimited, it's in Huntersville. Just north of Charlotte.

The guy who runs it is a good guy and even diagnosed a problem for me over the phone. His name is Dale Gregory, give him a call and see what you think. I've found him to be honest and straight up.

again, if you really need a shop that bad, go to foothills imports in anderson. they did my clutch. alot closer than charlotte. they do "all foregin" cars haha whatever that really means. they're rate is 70/hr i think. they do all the work on my dads bimmer. when they did my clutch they came in at the same price as robert did. the only thing is nobody really knows the secrets like robert did

I agree.. Robert was the man!

The guys at "Blind Squirrel" are a bunch of dumb ass crooks.

Sorry.. I had a really bad experience with them, Then they showed their true colors when he told me to, "get my rover out of his shop, because I was not the kind of customer he wanted so he could make money!"

I really don't know who to use in the area. I just know not to use them! I normally do all my own repairs. But when it comes to the major ECU and electronics issues. You need someone with a testbook, autologic, or rovacomm.

He might have an autologic. But who cares! Maybe he can sell it someone that knows how to use it.

Yep, I was in Greensboro NC for 6 months but decided to come back. I've seen you Rover around. It's hard to miss with the white top.

i ran into a local RRC owner, he reccommends A1 auto on wade hampton, it's across from the IHOP. he said they know what they're doing. i've met this guy before and he's an enthusiast like me so i dont think he'd send his truck just anywhere.

I have used MBV on several occasions. I think they are reasonable. They have a land rover certified tech on staff. They do not have a test book however. They do a lot of work on BMW, so they have a good deal of experience with BOSCH related problems. I would rather drive 2hrs to Rover Club house in Durham any day but sometimes the towing bill outways the benefit, so off to MBV for me!

To be honest, I have not had a bad experience at LR greenville. (yours may vary) They were straightforward with me, and called me with the quote before starting repairs. Did a very thorough job. Pricey... but these things are not cheap. Overall, I was satisfied with them. And would definately send someone there rather than "Blind Squirrel" I have not tried the place in Anderson. Kind of a long tow bill from Laurens.

Good luck!
